True Blue Minnesota is a 527 non-profit corporation formed to act as a counter-balance to the Republican National Convention to be held in St. Paul, Minnesota in September of 2008.
True Blue Minnesota aims to:
- Show the Nation that Minnesota is a state of Progressives
- Illuminate the fact that the current Republican administration is acting contrary to our belief system
- Expose wrongdoings in Washington D.C.
- Appreciate those who have sacrificed life and limb for America
- Satirize republican leadership in an attempt to sway public opinion
- Express the concern many have for what can happen to a Nation with religious fundamentalism takes root
- Act as a resource for like-minded organizations from today until the end of the Convention
- Suggest productive alternatives to the United States’ foreign and domestic policies
True Blue Minnesota will achieve these objectives by:
- Producing humorous, satirical, and true propaganda
- Distributing printed material
- Broadcasting on radio waves
- Broadcasting on television
- Playing music
- Mailing literature
- Helping to ensure a safe and free counter –convention
- Entertaining visitors and tourists
- Keeping in touch with local authorities
- Displaying art
- Co-hosting events
- Interviewing persons from all parties
- Providing a controlled platform from which people can speak
- Trading products that promote democratic values
- Trading products that promote the City of St. Paul
